Follow Friday (31)

Feature & Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read.

Q. What hyped up book do you think was not worth the talk?

A. Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry. EVERYONE loved this book and I knew as soon as I got through the first ten percent that I wasn't going to like it. I stuck through until the very end in hope that it would get better. ...It didn't. See my review HERE.

What wasn't worth the hype in your opinion?

  1. Oh no! You are the first person I've seen who didn't like it. I have not read it myself.

  5. Wow, Pushing the Limits is my favorite book I've read this year. But I read it before there was all this hype about it, so I had no expectations about it what so ever.

This is what makes reading so interesting. Some people love a book, and others can't get into it.

  6. Thanks so much for sharing the link to your review, it really helped with understanding why you thought this book was over-hyped. I find this happens a lot with books containing a mental illness... people who have no experience rave about it, and people who actually live with the problem being presented find the portrayal to be bothersome.
