Banned Books Week 2012

This was a week filled with awareness over a very controversial subject: the banning of books in the United States. Banned Books Week occurred between September 30th and October 6th this year and celebrated its 30th year of promoting the freedom to read whatever you want to read. The fact that books are still banned in the United States amazes me.

Books can be banned if they have at least one of these attributes:

1. the material was considered "sexually explicit"
2. the material contained "offense language"
3. the material was "unsuitable to any age group"

No book should be banned no matter how it is written, or based on the content. Reading is a choice! WHAT you read should be, too!
