WinterHaven Sleigh Tour: The Magic of Christmas

Ed and I are happy to be a part of the WinterHaven Sleigh Tour hosted by WinterHaven Books!
For the first three weeks in December, bloggers across the blogosphere are participating in different themed "challanges."
This week bloggers are talking about their favorite winter story.

I have three favorite Christmas stories. One that everyone knows. One that many people know. And one that only my family knows about.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a classic. Everyone knows it, and its beloved to us and we know the story by heart. It's a story of realization and finding love within your heart during the holidays. How the Grinch Stole Christmas is about coming together with your friends and family to celebrate being together and alive and having the opportunity of life ahead.

Eloise at Christmastime by Kay Thompson, and illustrated by Hilary Knight is another one that I adore. My grandma and I used to read Eloise books together before she passed away, so they hold a very special place in my heart. Eloise is always getting into mischief. I never fail to smile when I read the Eloise books, and the movie versions aren't too shabby either. This is a great book that I will be passing on to my children.

The final book is called Santa's Story and it was a book that my aunt and uncle had made just for me. It's really just one of those "insert the receiver's name to fill in the gaps" books, but it really felt special to me when I was a child. Even now, I smile when I see my picture and name inside it. It's one of the best presents I've ever received. It makes me smile to think that my family knew, even then, that I would love reading above almost everything else.

As part of The Magic of Christmas, WinterHaven Books is hosting a give-away that will include two book bundles to be shipped to an elementary school or library of the winner's choosing. The winner will be offered a few options and they can choose what two bundles and location to ship to within the United States.  Good luck and happy holidays!
