1. The Fault in Our Stars- need I say more?

2. 13 Reasons Why - this book was just so haunting. I wanted to find out what was happening, but was also afraid to read the next chapter.

3. Forbidden - this book went against all my instincts. It made me feel things I never thought I would and had me rooting for a love my head told me was wrong.

4. Hopeless - beautifully written and as the story unravels, your heart just breaks.

5. If I Stay - poses the question, what if I don't want to live? What if I choose to go? Beautiful.

6. Nets and Lies - Whoa this one just...trusting someone who turns around and betrays it in the most brutal way. Such a good read.

7. Easy -I adore Tammara Webber, and while I prefer her series over this standalone, the story is wonderfully told.

8. Wintergirls - with society so obsessed with being thin, this book looks into the scars and emotional toll it takes on one.

9. Almost - this book had its moments where it drove me nuts, but for the most part it was well written. Shows how far people are willing to go to protect people they love.

10. The S-Word - while poorly executed in the writing. I really liked what the author was trying to portray: the ugly side of high school.

Emily's List

1. How to Kill a Rockstar by Tiffanie DeBartolo
- This was one book that everyone raved over, but it left me feeling... I don't even know, empty? I still haven't properly rated it yet because I still can't decide how I feel about it. All I know is that I didn't love it like everyone else.

2. Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma
- Just based on the subject matter of the book I never thought I would have the emotional connection I ended up having with this one. Highly recommend this one.

3. Stalk Me (The Keatyn Chronicles #1) by Jillian Dodd
- Coming off of my love of the That Boy series, I was excited to read something else by this author. First chapter in, I was already making notes on what bothered me. Such a dissapointment.

4. Incarceron (Incarceron #1) by Catherine Fisher
- Here was a book I borrowed from my friend that I hadn't heard anything about. The premise sounded interesting enough but this book grabbed me from the beginning and I ended up loving it.

5. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
- I knew I would like this book going in. I mean, what's not to like? American girl in Paris who falls in love with a cute boy. Just a cute, fluffy read. Instead what I got was what turned out to be one of my favorite books. And one of my favorite characters (St. Clair, I love you).

6. The Boy Who Sneaks Into My Bedroom Window by Kirsty Moseley
- This book has a fairly high rating on Goodreads (4.10) and the plot sounded really interesting. But alas, this book drove me nuts.

7. Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #1) by Laini Taylor
- What can I say about this one? I knew I was going to like it based on what I heard, but I never expected to love it. So much that I finished it pretty much in one day.

8. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
- What can I say? Based on the movie, I thought I would love this book. I didn't.

9. Monument 14 (Monument 14 #1) by Emmy Laybourne
- I picked this book up at the Fierce Reads signing where I met the author. The way she decribed the book and the characters had me super excited to read it. However, something in it fell flat. I liked the book, but not as much as I expected.

10. Twilight (Twilight #1) by Stephenie Meyer
- I had to include this one. One of my best friends threw (literally) this book at me a little over five years ago. I knew I would enjoy it, but I didn't expect it to take over that week of my life where I had to buy the next two (Breaking Dawn wasn't out yet) and do nothing but read. While my views about the quality of writing and plot may have changed since then, the fact that this series owned me for some years means I had to put it on here.

Emily's List

1. Storm (Elementals #1) by Brigid Kemmerer
- I wasn't sure about this because I didn't really enjoy the first novella. The writing was addicting, but the characters needed some work based on what I saw in Elemental. Luckily, I found a new favorite in this series.
2. Losing It (Losing It #1) by Cora Carmack
- I'm not a fan of books focused toward the new adult age group and so I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy this. As the book progressed, I found it harder and harder to put down.
3. Wasteland by Susan Kim and Laurence Klavan
- I knew I wasn't going to like this, but didn't think that I would absolutely hate it. Spoiler alert: I did.
4. Strands of Bronze and Gold (Strands of Bronze and Gold #1) by Jane Nickerson
- I thought I was going to love this one! It had a beautiful cover and a summary to drool over. I didn't feel that it lived up to its potential, though.
5. Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone by Kat Rosenfield
- I was obsessed with this cover. The font? The coloring? I was sure I was going to love it to the max and I ended up barely getting through it.
6. Painted Faces by LH Cosway
- I'm obsessed with this book now, but when I first saw it, I really wasn't sure. The themes are much different from anything I've ever read and I didn't know if the author could pull it off. She did. Beautifully.
7. Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky #2) by Veronica Rossi
- Thoroughly impressed. Ms. Rossi absolutely blew me away with this one. I thought it was even better than the first! No one should miss this series!
8. Howl's Moving Castle (Howl's Moving Castle #1) by Diana Wynne Jones
- The movie version of this novel is literally my favorite movie. I was expecting to love the book as much as I adore the movie, but though I enjoyed it, I definitely didn't love it.
9. Starcrossed (Starcrossed #1) by Josephine Angelini
- I was sure I was going to love this. I probably would've bet my savings on it. Truth be told, I could not stand it.
10. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
- I went through a phase in high school where I didn't read. At all. I skipped book assignments in my english classes and let my library card collect dust on my dresser. Then my professor told me to read Jane Eyre. I absolutely loved it and started reading again and haven't stopped to this day. I wasn't expecting to enjoy a classic so much--because I honestly have trouble reading many of them.

Top Ten Books I Read Before I Was a Blogger

(Because I missed last week's TTT)

1. Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan

- I actually read this when I was in middle school. It was the first LGBT book I ever read and my hands were sweating as I left the library with it because I was so nervous my mom would find out and freak out. Lesson learned: my mom is very supportive of the community.

2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

- My step-mom actually got me to read these. I reluctantly enjoyed them (it was reluctant because we do not get along and that's an understatement).

3. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

- I love this series to this day. And when I'm feeling really emotional and need a good cry, I go back and reread book three.

4. Modern Faerie Tales by Holly Black

- They were too dark for my taste the first time I read them, but the second time, I fell in love!

5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

- I read them after book three came out, which is really for the best because book two was crayyyyy.

6. All of Sarah Dessen's Books

- Swoon. Swoon. Swoon.

7. All of Elizabeth Scott's Books

- I have so much love for this woman's writing.

8. The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien

- I have to admit that I'm not very fond of the LOTR books, but The Hobbit is one of my favorite books.

9. The Nature of Jade by Deb Caletti

- This is the only book by Caletti that I've really loved and it really pushed my love of emotional, controversial books.

10. Chaos Walking by Patrick Ness

- This is one (if not the very top) of the best science-fiction novels I've ever read. I would love to reread it (and I rarely reread things). The first tattoo I plan to get is actually a quote from this novel--that's how I much I loved it!

Top Ten Books I Recommend Most

1. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
- This is on of those books that I had to own, read once, but will probably never read again because it's so emotional and so wonderful that I can only handle it once in a lifetime. I think everyone should read it, because it's not often that a book this powerful comes around.
2. Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt
- Okay... This book is really emotional, too. But gah! With the issue of gay marriage being so relevant, especially as of late, I think this is a book that needs to be read. It's beautiful, and so perfect. I sobbed my heart out, but it was so worth it.
3. Sarah Dessen's books
- I think Sarah's books are amazing. I always recommend her to fans of contemporary young adult!
4. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
- My one of my favorite books, this is a classic. Everyone should read it!
5. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan
- Hilarious, heart-wrenching and ultimately heart-warming, this duo can do no wrong!
6. The Necromancer Series by Lish McBride
- Lish's writing is fantastic. The Necromancer books are extremely humorous and entertaining in the best of ways. I'm sad I have to wait until 2015 until the third book! So to make myself feel better, I've been trying to get others to join me in love and misery (over having to wait so long).
7. Painted Faces by LH Conway
- This is an adult novel and it's definitely not for everyone. The background of the main character's love interest is not one that is often written about in any kind of fiction. I loved the unique ideas the author brought and (almost) everyone I've recommended this to loved it!
8. The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien
- Even before the movie came out, I pushed this book on all of my friends (including Edwin). It's fascinating and in my opinion, better than The Lord of the Rings.
9. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
- Such a fun book, with just a little angst.
10. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
- This is such a good series--even my mother (who I forced to read it) loved it!

1. Beauty Queens by Libba Bray
- I'm pretty sure I got this at Half-Price Books before I started school to "tide me over" and have now owned it for almost two years.
2. Draw the Dark by Isla J. Bick
- I bought this after I finished and adored Drowning Instinct by the same author. Still have not read it, which is absolutely shameful.
3. The Wishing Spell (The Land of Stories #1) by Chris Colfer
- He was signing them at a store semi-close to me, so I ordered a copy. Written and signed by a television star? I can dig it.
4. Tempest (Tempest #1) by Julie Cross
- My mom and I were at a book signing on my birthday, and I begged her to buy it for me (signed). That still counts, right?
5. Catching Jordan (Hundred Oaks #1) by Miranda Kenneally
- I'm mostly just scared that I won't like it.
6. Team Human by Justine Larbalestier and Sarah Rees Brennan
- While I love Sarah's work, I haven't read anything by Justine and that has me a bit nervous. But I enjoy parodies, so I believe WHEN I get to this, I'll enjoy it.
7. The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta
- Like with Catching Jordan, I am worried that I won't enjoy this one.
8. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
- The people I've talked to about Before I Fall have either loved the book, or hated it and when it comes to those kinds of books, I'm usually on the negative side. I may be using avoidance tactics.
9. Delirium (Delirium #1) by Lauren Oliver
- This one will be read soon! My mom and I plan to read it together, as soon as she finishes The Host (which is taking her a very long time).
10. Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys
- To be fair, I've only had this one for a week(ish). I am actually going to pick it up once I finish the two books I'm working on now!

1. Delirium by Lauren Oliver
- I know... It's shameful. I was waiting for the final book to come out to start it. Now that it's here, I will definitely be picking it up soon!
2. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
- Again, this is one that I definitely need to read. My friends keep telling me to, but I'm hesitant because hyped up books and I often clash.
3. Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
- I have no excuse. I love Richelle's VA series, and I definitely should be reading this.
4. Unwanteds by Lisa McMann
- My dad bought and had the first two books signed for me, but he hasn't mailed them yet! I blame him.
5. Shades of London by Maureen Johnson
- I haven't broken down and bought the first one, but I randomly received a copy of the second book in the mail, so it's moving up on my "to-read" list.
6. Article 5 by Kristen Simmons
- I am planning to read this over the weekend because the author will actually be pretty close to me next week and I want to get my books signed!
7. Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
- It's an angel book... I seldom like angel books. But it just sounds so good and so many people have loved it that I must give it a chance!
8. The Sweet Evil Trilogy by Wendy Higgins
- I really know nothing about this series, but I like the covers... Heh.
9. Elemental by Brigid Kemmerer
- I read the first novella in the series and didn't really like it. After finishing, I was told you should read the first book before the novella. Whelp...
10. Newsoul by Jodi Meadows
- I'm on the waiting list at my local library! Soon...

Top Ten Authors I'd Put on My Auto-Buy List

1. Cassandra Rose Clarke - I read her debut YA novel a few months back and absolutely love, love, loved it! When I was offered the opportunity to read her adult novel, I jumped at the chance. The books were completely different, but both were outstanding. She has so much talent and I plan to read everything she releases in the future!
2. Veronica Roth - I love the Divergent series and she's such a sweetheart--that always helps!
3. Lisa McMann - The woman is a goddess. I have read everything she's written thus far, with the exception of The Unwanteds (but only because my father still has my copies!). She's enthralled me with every book she's released and I will continue to support her forever.
4. Marissa Meyer - Cinder and Scarlet? Fantastic! Ms. Meyer has an amazing talent. Everything she produces in the future will be purchased by me!
5. Hannah Moskowitz - The only thing I ever know to expect from Moskowitz's work is perfection.
6. Leigh Bardugo - Foreverandeverandeverandeverandever.
7. John Green - He's so inspirational and writes some of the most fantastic stories I've ever read. I absolutely adore him and I cannot wait to see what he comes up with next!
8. Lish McBride - Lish's humor is what makes her books so good and I never have trouble rereading her work. She's an author whose work I could read all day, any day.
9. Patrick Ness - I didn't know what to expect from Patrick's work when I first started his Chaos Walking series, but as the story progressed, my adoration for Patrick grew. He is utterly brilliant. After reading A Monster Calls, I will buy anything he ever writes because he's just that good.
10. Stephanie Perkins - Her writing is just so sweet and entertaining. I have fun reading and rereading her books. There aren't many authors that leave so big of an impression on me that I will actually reread their work multiple times, but Stephanie is one of them!

Top Ten Romances in Books

1. Four and Tris from the Divergent series - Is there anything else to say? These two are perfect and perfectly romantic.
2. Freda and Nicholas from Painted Faces - This is one of my all time favorite adult titles. These two go through so much and there relationship is just... brilliant.
3. Hazel and Augustus from The Fault in Our Stars - *sigh* These two are such an inspiring and beautiful couple.
4. Jane and Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre - Probably my favorite literary couple ever.
5. Cat and Finn from The Mad Scientist's Daughter - This book broke my heart, but I shipped this relationship from the moment I heard about it.
6. Aria and Perry from the Under the Never Sky series - Swooooon. So much swooningggg.
7. Violet and Jay from The Body Finder - Ms. Derting writes this relationship beautifully. I only hope that they can stick together through the trials ahead of them! (If they break up, my life will be over forever. /dramatics)
8. Alina and Mal from The Grisha series - While I wanted Alina to be with the Darkling during book one, Siege and Storm had me cheering these two on! So much love.
9. Ty and Zane from the Cut & Run series - My first M/M series and one of my favorites! I've been with these two from the beginning and I love them dearly!
10. Anna and Etienne from Anna and the French Kiss - This is one of those books that I just couldn't pick down because the characters drew me in and I was captivated by the romance. I just love these two!

 - I was asked to recap one of Macmillan's Fierce Reads signings last year. It was probably one of the coolest things I've ever done.

 - I spent my birthday last year at Kristina McBride's launch party for her novel, One Moment. I had mentioned it being my birthday beforehand and she brought me M&M's! It was awesome!
5. Meeting John Green
 - I won a vlog contest that got me front row seats to one of his library signings and then he told my mom she was awesome and a true inspiration (Mom is a 18-year cancer survivor). He's as wonderful in real life as he is on video/twitter/tumblr.
6. Making Blogger/Author Friends
 - Especially my home girl, Cecilia Gray, my read-along buddy, Jen from The Starry-Eyed Revue, Veronica from Ronnie's Bookshelf and my soulmate, Isabelle (before she disappeared off the face of the Earth) from Wake Up at Seven.
7. Going to RT
 - I was actually only fifteen when I went and I am sad to say, I was within three feet of JR Ward and didn't get anything signed. (I only went for Holly Black, Richelle Mead and Kelley Armstrong.) I wish I could go back and meet all of the romance authors that I've now read!
8. Being Put in the Acknowledgements (and Quoted in the Praise) of a Book
 - Cecilia Gray, I'm looking at you. Kidney sistas 4 lyf.

10. Stalking Rae Carson
 - She's a local (amazing) author and I see her at pretty much every signing I go to. So we say that I stalk her, because I'm also a big fan of her books. (It's not as creepy as it sounds, I promise.)
