Veronica Roth Signing Recap + Giveaway

So, Veronica Roth is really cool, ya know? She writes this awesome series. She has the most adorable dog. And she gave me hugs and laughed when I told her that I wanted to put her in my pocket.

On May 2, 2012, my mom and I went to a discussion and signing for THE Veronica Roth. Best. Day. Ever. Here are some pictures:

I'd turn this so you could see it better - but it's locked. So enjoy a side view!

She was doing her introduction.

Reading from Insurgent! Oh happy day!

She's answering questions!

She answered a question I asked (Ali told me to ask it), a question my friend, Brian asked and one that Ali from Ali's Bookshelf! And Brian would like me to mention that his was the first question to be answered. (He's such a nerd.)

Still answering questions!
I hugged her twice. She's so adorable!

I used a disposable camera... It didn't turn out so well.

So, you see the awesomeness? It won't be a day that I'll so forget - or ever forget. Whatever.
And to celebrate the amazing day that I had:
WE ARE HAVING A GIVEAWAY!

  2. Yes! Four! My favorite quote is from Divergent! Page 407 '"Four and Six," I say' I DIED when I read that line!

  3. The books are my favorite!! Four is my favorite character in divergent not insurgent he made me so mad! The way acted in divergent was brave and honest but in insurgent it was full of cowardice (in my opinion anyway) My favorite quote is from the dauntless manifesto,
"We believe in freedom from fear, in denying fear the power to influence our decisions." It means so much!

  4. I LOVED Divergent! I usually stay away from dystopian novels but this book was amazing!
Four was definitely my most favourite, more so because Veronica didn't describe as some hotshot god who stole every girl's breath away just because of his looks. You love him because he is that awesome!

  5. I am so happy to know that there is still a chance for me to get signed copies of Divergent! The whole Divergent series has long been at the top of my to-read list!

  6. Thanks for the chance to win!! :D I love Four, he is my favorite character. He is one of those memorable ones. He is strong yet vulnerable in Insurgent. He is not whom we thought he is. He is very believable and not God like.

  12. I've only read Divergent so far. There are lots of quotable quotes but one favourite one is where Four says "it's when you're acting selflessly that you are at your bravest" and I realised his connection with Tris!

  13. I haven't read them yet! I've been hearing so many great things about the books though, so I really want to win this one.

  17. Yes, I have read the series and I can't wait to read the third installment! Tris is my favorite character. I don't think I could ever be as brave as her or make the same decisions that she made. Even though it was so hard for her, she did it because she believed in fighting for what she knew was right. I have a lot of favorite quotes, but this one stood out among the rest: "People, I have discovered, are layers and layers of secrets. You believe you know them, that you understand them, but their motives are
always hidden from you, buried in their own hearts. You will never know them, but sometimes you decide to trust them."

  20. I hesitated to read Divergent because of all the hype, but picked it up at Walmart for its cheapness and because I wanted a summer read...I couldn`t put it down and had to get Insurgent as soon as it came out :) My favourite character is Tobias/Four due to his bravery and adherence to his own moral code (as well as having an attractive description and having my fav guy name) but Fernando was pretty awesome as an entertaining character. Tris is also growing on me although I don't like her choices sometimes. I think my fav quote is: "And when we rise, hand in hand, I realize that if we had both chosen differently, we might have ended up doing the same thing, in a safer place, in gray clothes instead of black ones".

Haha got a bit carried away but, thanks for this giveaway,! I enjoyed your post as I was gonna go to NY for the release date but couldn't at the last minute...

  23. I have read Divergent, TOTALLY LOVE IT!! I just can't wait to read Insurgent, it's so great!! :) I don't have a fav quote, there's a couple I liked:
-“Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it”
-“Who cares about pretty? I'm going for noticeable”

    Awesome, right?? :)

  27. I've read Divergent, and my favorite character is...I would say Tris (even if that is like the most obvious answer ever). I admit that she annoys me at times, but she is a strong character nonetheless.

  28. my favorite character would be Tobias! deeeym, if he was real I'd chase him. lol, I like him because he fell for Tris because she isn't beautiful and he wasn't in for Tris 'cause of intimacy and please hawtieeee lol, my favorite quotes would be "fear doesn't shut you down, it wakes you up" by Four ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. My favourite character from both books is Four/Tobias because he is so supportive towards Tris and tries his best to understand her which is not what alot of characters do! Lol I can't choose one quote!!
