Review:
The film Babel is a drama that takes place in 3 different countries. The story starts off in Morocco when a farmer buys a gun to shoot the jackals that are killing his goats. The farmer gives the rifle to his two sons that take care of the goats. The two sons are about 12 and 15 and start to shoot random things. They then see a car and try to shoot at it from a cliff to see how far the bullet goes. One of the boys shoots at a tourist bus and actually shoots a lady that is riding in the bus. The film then jumps ahead of time to a house in the United States where a nanny is taking care of these two children that are Caucasian.  The nanny wants to attend her son's wedding that is being held in Mexico and the parents of the children are not back yet. (The parents were on the tour bus and the mother was the lady who was shot). Since the nanny can't find someone to take care of the children, she brings them along to the wedding. The story then jumps to Japan and introduces a Japanese teenager that is deaf. She feels that no one loves her because of her disability so she desperately tries to get attention from males. There is a scene where she is at a restaurant and she takes off her underwear to show the guys in the restaurant that she wants to have sex. Her father is a business man that is never home and tries to take care of his daughter but feels that he is failing.

The movie was pretty good. I usually do not watch movies like these but I enjoyed this one. There were some things that I did not like about the movie though.  The movie keeps going back and forth through time and it got pretty confusing at times, but it starts to make better sense as the movie goes on. Another thing that I did not like was the teenage Japanese girl. I felt like she was a character that had nothing to do with the story and even though the movie makes you feel bad fer her, I felt like most of the time she was just in the way of what the story was about. I did not like how the father was barely a part of the story even though he was the original owner of the rifle.

The things I did like about the movie was how one action had created all this commotion and drama that goes on on the movie. I also felt like the music was well done.  There were moments that captured my heart and I recommend this movie for everyone that likes to watch movies that are in the drama genre.

I never give away the ending of the movie, so if you are interested in watching the movie, it is available on Netflix to stream instantly.
